Purging Old Data
Purging old and unwanted data from your system is a very important part of keeping your software running faster and smoother. Some files in Resale Connection are self purging, but the primary data files are to be purged as a decision of the store owner. The screen displayed below is the primary files purge menu found in Resale Connection.
We recommend that you keep all of your previous year's Inventory and log data and purge the zero balance items older than that. Purging files should be a monthly process after the second year of operations to keep the purge times to a minimum.
You should run purge functions outside normal business hours as the processes may take awhile and the files being purged are locked for updating and not accessible by the other program functions during that time
Keeping your primary data files lean will result in faster transaction processing, especially at end of day closings, less data traffic back and forth between your networked workstations, less chance of file damage and shorter times to apply new file conversion updates to your system
