Setup Receipt Printer

This POS program is designed to use standard 3 1/8 inch receipt printers. The preferred models are the Star TSP100 and Epson TM88IV models.

Install your printer driver from the CD that came with your printer. If you do not have a driver CD, you may download the correct driver from the manufacturer's website. www.starmicronics.com for Star and www.epson.com for Epson. If you are running a 64 bit computer, be sure to choose the 64 bit driver for your printer model.

When yo have successfully installed your printer driver, use the "local Computer Controls" option on the Maintenance menu of Resale Connection program to select the Receipt printer driver from the droplist for the installed driver.

Connect the RJ11 cable from the Cash Drawer into the RJ11 jack on the back of the receipt printer.

To activate "kicking of the Cash Drawer" on STAR printers, locate the installed receipt printer in the Windows Control Panel Printers option. Right click the mouse on the printer name and then left click on properties at the bottom of the droplist. Next locate the "Device Options" Tab on the properties window. Halfway down the screen, there is a Cash Drawer 1 variable. Change the setting from "Do Not Open" to "Open Before Printing". Apply and print test page from Description Tab.

You will not need to do this for Epson printers as the "Kick Codes" are built into the receipt headers.
